Privacy Policies – Maps Address Book
Effective Date: 20/02/2026
Clever Thinking Software Inc. (“the Company”) is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the Maps Address Book app (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal information of users who access or use the Maps Address Book app.
Privacy-First Approach
Maps Address Book is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal address data. All addresses, categories, notes, and personal information you enter are stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account or Google account, which we cannot access.
Information We DO NOT Collect
Maps Address Book does not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your saved addresses
- Custom categories you create
- Notes you add to addresses
- Contact information you store
- Any personal location data you save in the app
All this information is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account or Google account, which we cannot access.
Information We collect
- Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, such as the device type, operating system, and unique device identifier.
- Google Account info (when you sign in with Google): name, email, Google user ID, OAuth tokens (stored on-device).
- Location Information (optional): If you grant permission, we may collect your location information to provide location-based services within the App, such as storing and accessing addresses and points of interest in navigation apps like Waze, Google Maps, and Apple Maps etc…
- Crash Reports: Anonymous crash reports may be collected to help us identify and fix technical issues.
- Advertising (non-premium users): Device advertising ID, coarse location, and app usage patterns collected by Google AdMob.
- Subscription Status: We receive information about your subscription status through Apple’s StoreKit or Google Play framework to enable premium features.
How we use you information
- Authenticate you and show your profile when using Google Sign‑In.
- Maintain your session (OAuth tokens) until you sign out.
- Provide core features: save/display addresses, open navigation apps you choose.
- Improve stability and performance through diagnostics and crash reports.
- Serve ads to free‑tier users ; no ads for premium users.
- Process subscriptions and entitlements via StoreKit or Google Play.
Note: Your address data, categories, notes, and personal information are processed entirely on your device. We do not have access to this information. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your personal iCloud account, not on our servers. If you enable Google sync, this data is stored in your personal Google account, not on our servers.
Data Storage & Retention
- Saved addresses/categories/notes: on your device; optionally in your personal iCloud/Google account (we cannot access).
- OAuth tokens (for Android users): encrypted on-device; retained until you sign out or uninstall.
- Crash logs/diagnostics: retained by platform crash services for up to 24 months.
- Ad data: retained by Google per AdMob policy; we do not keep copies.
Data and Sync
All personal information you enter into Maps Address Book (addresses, categories, notes, etc.) is stored:
- Locally on your device, and
- In your personal iCloud account if you choose to enable iCloud sync, or
- In your personal Google account if you choose to enable Google sync.
We do not have access to your personal address data. Your data remains private and under your control. The security of your information depends on your device’s security settings and, if applicable, your iCloud/Google account security.
Advertising (Free Version Features)
For users who have not purchased the premium subscription, Maps Address Book Pro displays advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google AdMob may collect and use information about your device and app usage, such as:
- Device advertising identifier
- General location information (if permitted)
- App usage patterns
- Device characteristics
Important: Google AdMob does not have access to your saved addresses, categories, notes, or any personal location data you store in the app. This information remains private on your device.
You can learn more about Google’s data practices and opt-out options in their Politique de confidentialité.
Premium subscribers do not see advertisements and are not subject to advertising data collection.
Third-Party Services
Maps Address Book integrates with the following services:
- Google OAuth/Sign‑In: used only to verify your account and personalize your session; not sold or used for ads.
- Google AdMob: receives advertising ID, coarse location, and usage needed to serve ads; never receives your saved addresses.
- Apple services: iCloud (optional sync), StoreKit (purchases), MapKit (maps).
- Navigation apps you choose (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze): addresses you open are sent directly from your device to the selected app.
- App Tracking Transparency: We respect your choice regarding app tracking and follow Apple’s or Android’s guidelines
Sharing your information
We do not have access to your personal address data, so we cannot share it. Your addresses, categories, notes, and personal information remain private to you.
For the limited information we do have access to, we do not sell, rent, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. However, we may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Google AdMob (Non-Premium Users): For users who haven’t purchased premium, Google AdMob (a third-party advertising service) may collect device information, advertising identifiers, and general usage data to serve advertisements. AdMob does not have access to your saved addresses or personal location data.
- Apple Services: Subscription information is shared with Apple for App Store purchases, and anonymous crash reports may be shared with Apple for technical support.
- Navigation Apps: When you choose to get directions, your device (not our servers) shares the relevant address information directly with your selected navigation app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze).
- Legal Compliance: We may share any information we have access to if required to comply with legal obligations, such as laws, regulations, search warrants, subpoenas, or court orders.
Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, since most data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud / Google account, the security primarily depends on:
- Your device’s security settings (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- Your iCloud/Google account security
- Keeping your OS software updated
Your Rights and Choices
- Revoke Google access: You can remove your Google Sync stored data here: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Sign out in‑app to remove OAuth tokens; uninstall to remove local/synced address data.
- iCloud Sync: You can enable or disable iCloud synchronization within your device settings.
- Location Services: You can enable or disable location services for the App at any time through your device’s Privacy & Security settings.
- Contacts Access: You can enable or disable contacts access for the App at any time through your device’s Privacy & Security settings.

You can delete it by removing the app from your device and disabling iCloud sync for the iOS app or revoking Google access for the Android app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Updating the effective date at the top of this policy
- Providing notice through the App or other appropriate means
- As required by applicable law
